Woodside Primary School Oswestry……… a good place to be

Monday 6th July 2015

We are currently asking for donations towards our fundraising campaign to raise money to rebuild the Yangrima School, in the district of Helambu, north east of Katmandu in Nepal, which was badly damaged in the recent earthquakes.

The children in Year 5/6 are going to The Marches School this morning to watch a performance of Grease.

We are holding a meeting today at 3.45 for parents/carers of children who are starting in FS1 (Nursery) in September.


Diary dates this week:

Our Year 5/6 Sports Day takes place on Tuesday morning starting at 9.30.

We are holding a special Year 6 leavers’ lunch on Tuesday.

Our KS1 Sports Day takes place on Wednesday morning starting at 9.30.

Our Year 6 leavers are holding an ice cream party on Thursday morning!

We will be holding consultation meetings for parents/carers of children in Sarah Murphy’s Year 5/6 class on Thursday 2.00-5.00. These are informal drop-ins and appointments are not required.

We will be holding a special Year 6 leavers party on Thursday 5.00-6.30.

We will be announcing our winning house on Thursday!

We are planning a special Year 6 leavers’ assembly for parents/carers on Friday 2.00.


The theme of our assemblies is Creativity.

The music played in our assemblies this week is Three Little Birds. It is performed by Bob Marley and The Wailers.
